Today… was a whirlwind. Guess what?!? I just adulted. I did. Hardcore…
Well that is a little bit of a stretch. I would not necessarily say it was hardcore, but it was not a lazy-day-off-of-work. I got stuffs done. Lots of the stuffs, well some that were on my list anyway. (And a couple non-planned stuffs snuck into the list as well.) Sitting back at the end of the day – I am pretty content with all of it. I was not kissing babies, or signing pictures – but I can say I nailed it today.
My anti-sad Rx ran out and since I moved I had not established a primary care provider in Lawrence. Shame on me – but I really don’t like to go to the doctor. Not because I am afraid – but because I just let my body do its thing. This time, I thought I had a refill left and – well I did not. Nope. Nada. My provider wouldn’t see me again since I am not living in the area. (We could debate that – but it wasn’t changing the outcome for me.) While trying to make an appointment here, I was going to be waiting for a couple weeks. I guess medicine withdrawals are not urgent. (If you have never had one – don’t every try… Taper when they tell you to, or don’t miss a dose.) Q pointed me to the Minute Clinic, or a walk-in visit at CVS my a Nurse Practitioner. While, I still need a primary, I awoke today and went in early this AM. I got my Rx refilled. Yeah – I feel good about that. Literally.
Since I am moving, I had planned on borrowing a truck from Q’s dad today. So I went out there and grabbed his truck right after the Rx visit. We went back to my apartment with the truck and moved the big things out of the apartment (couch, desk, bed, bookshelf). Other than the last one-to-two boxes of catch all – I am mostly out of there. The catch all box is the random tidbits that you don’t have enough of to make a full box, or a category of stuff for. Bottom line, is that I am almost out of there WAHOO!.
Next on the list was a favor. Since I borrowed the truck and he has some things going on limiting him right now, I ran a couple errands. I cleaned out his truck a bit, and also changed his wiper blades. On a really positive note, as the blades we being installed – a surprise (not on the radar) thunderstorm appeared and started to pour our a river from the clouds. Perfect timing. As I was heading back to return the truck, Q called me and our kitty-cat, Sox, had a really swollen eye. It was getting worse and she got a last minute appointment at the vet. Bad news – it was NOW. We told them we would be late – and they were fine with that.
SO we got Sox in… Outside of the bill, it was a great experience. Turns out he didn’t have ear mites… and the eye was just conjunctivitis (compared to a number of Dr. Google things that it could have been). He has allergies and pink eye. He is safe. He is medicated. He is now feeling better. It’s not a placebo – it’s completely noticeable how he is acting. Or he was scared straight… J/K… (maybe). OH! On the way in to the vet… I forgot about the downpour. It was the biggest flash flood that I have been a part of in some time. It made us more late – but it was deep enough that I am surprised water didn’t come in through the doors. Yes, it was that bad.
We finished the day watching Winchester. I made some food, here, and we ended with happy kitties, and accomplishments under our belts. Tomorrow, I hope to get the catch all boxes, and also pick up some empty moving boxes for the next move ( less than a month ). So here is to tomorrow. Happy 4th of July. And wish me luck on getting out of the apartment.
